Info about the CLT area?
I don't think we have done this one yet.
Backwards seems to be the only direction of movement around my seniority on the Bus in DFW, so we are looking at better options. MIA is covered pretty well, so can anyone who lives in CLT give us some info?
Curious about cost of living/areas to look or avoid/schools/taxes etc.
I understand lot's of people live just across the border in SC, Rock hill seems to come up a lot.
Thanks.

As for seniority list in CLT, it's stagnate, if not feeling like it's going backwards. I'm a Spring 2014 hire and sit around 85% on FO list. Pretty much been in exact spot for last 2 years. Lots should retire here so who knows what will happen. Uber senior because it's NC and good cost of living compared to other bases or junior due to loss of WB flying and NB domestic future. Your guess as good as mine
As for CLT itself, I moved to Mooresville 2 years ago. My counterpart pretty much nailed it about Charlotte and different parts of town vs. taxes, schools, and what it has to offer. Overall, it's a nice place to live but growing like Atlanta did in the 90's. Everywhere you look there is development and traffic is an absolute nightmare at times. I-77 can take 30 min to airport or 2 hours. There is no rhyme or reason too it either. The tolls may or may not fix this problem. Also, if you are looking at LKN, you aren't getting anything on water anymore for less than 750k unless it's a lot with a trailer that will have to be removed for new construction. And even those are going 400+ an acre. LKN is not some hidden gem and is getting very expensive to live around.
Overall, I'm glad I moved here and am not leaving, but if I was to go back, I probably would have went out toward Asheville and/or up toward Winston-Salem. The traffic daily infuriates me.

DOH is a pretty useless number anymore, but I'm about 11,000 seniority, so not many of the CLT people need to worry about it.
It appears that lot's of people want into DFW airbus however. The last bid I lost 7% relative seniority in seat, and I'll bet this next one will push me firmly back onto reserve.
I refuse to commute anymore, so we are ready to pull up roots and move to someplace I can have just a little bit of QOL. According to the 3XP, I'm around 16% in MIA, 33% in CLT, but I don't think we are ready to live in MIA just yet.
We don't care about living on the water, just a nice family friendly place with good schools. I doubt we can afford a house like the one we have now anyplace else, one of the benefits of living in Big D I guess.
Thanks for the intel, it gives us a place to start doing research.
