The reality is JV is the way of the future. No capex for AC, gates, equipment and no pesky union and USG labor rules all while still make money selling the ticket via companies web site. Low overhead is the key. This will be the amazon of airline seat sales concept.

Agree wide body west coast , at the moment takes awhile. That being said , if I lived out west , I would bid the 320 as a new hire , prob get LAX pretty quick, and being on reserve, flying the islands, despite the lack of min day, would be a pretty good gig.
YMMV
I loved my year n change on the bus... very comfy jet👍🏻

The future of Group3 is all aircraft parked and mostly replaced by Group 2 321 NEOs. About 90% of American's fleet will be narrow body with the rest Group 4. If you want to fly large aircraft AA is probably not a good move. Currently it takes about 20 years seniority to hold a line as FO on Group 4 aircraft. Even with the large amount of retirements I doubt that will change significantly.
