The airline traditional one is Jackson Optical on the Kowloon side, that is where my dad got his done in the 1960's and 70's flying the stretch 8.I got some done there a year or 2 ago. Most hotel concierge types will be able to find the guy. Bring back Bob Prescott he is needed!

I think the standard for official pilot "blindness" is when you can smell it before you can see it.

But then again that depends on the country and the ......well, you know.

I've used Colors in Optics for about ten years now. Humphrey's Avenue, go up Nathan Road, turn right on Humphrey's about a half a block down the road on the right. Very good exams, custom glasses (specialty like for fishing or skiing), great customer service. Free cleanings and repairs (like if you sit on them and need them refitted ...)

Jim: Today is Jan 24,'09. Just got back from a 12 day trip around the pacific with HKG layovers. Used Jackson's optical located in the mall at the bottom of the Sheraton. He looked at my glasses, put them in a machine and said no problem. Cost was higher than I had heard before. Expecting around a $100 cost was $280. However, these were bi-focals with vera lux lens corrected for a stigmatism. Ordered them in the morning. Ready before I left that evening.

I just picked up some glasses at the 580 market. I can't remember how much but 10-15 USD sounds about right. First floor on the backside. They will cut you lenses with a prescription, but I brought mine home and got the lenses put in at Costco (about 120 USD for transition, anti-glare).
