Bezos doesn’t take prisoners and doesn’t do unions... If Bezos could make you sleep in the plane as your hotel (8 hour min rest while you transit to your next station to keep iron moving), he would and many others wouldn’t be far behind.

Even for a Pax Carrier you could see the $ savings driving the equation. Full crew in rest while on a transatlantic flight, swap out at the Paris destination and take it right back. No hotels, No good eats/drink and no Eiffel Tower. It’s just a fact that they would if they could... Glad they can’t (or am I wrong and they do it now???), so the next step is the 797. Comes with 2 seats, capable with just one. At least that’s probably delayed for awhile with Max issues and current financial events.

There is enough information out there for applicants to get a decent picture of the good, bad and ugly here. If you are in a spot where your airline is gone and you will have no recall rights, this may be a good spot for now. If you are going to be recalled, consider whether its worth the risks.

If life is falling apart around you, we will do what we can. Also things are changing by the hour.

I'm curious how many TSA/Compass pilots will come to Atlas/Southern, due to their companies shutting down.

Given the current options and conditions? Likely all of them.

If you get furloughed with recall rights you can't take a job at another airline without giving up your recall right?

it depends.... you can but some airlines will not hire you unless you give up recall rights first.

During previous downturns in the industry good Chief Pilots have made it known to their furloughed pilots that they could forward their “required resignation of recall letters” to him/her and they would be promptly filed....in the trash. Never give up your recall rights. You never know when you will need them.
