Its hard to tell who will or won't take. I've seen us turn down great candidates. Applications are free. Treat it like a gas station lottery ticket.

Guys
stop propping up these dogs!t places—let them die their natural death, and good riddance.
If you didn’t know you needed a backup career, now you do. I attempted to explain that concept to the skinny jean wearing a$$clown that “interviewed” me at Envoy 2 years ago, ( I had already received 2 other offers before I walked in there). Those on top today can easily find themselves on the street tomorrow. I’ll bet he’s had some time to reflect on that. An Eastern L1011 Ca told me that when I was a noob back in 1991. He had gone from intl heavy left seat to working in a laundry, then to a dogs!t regional. After 9/11, I went back to college and got an extremely lucrative medical career. Now I can do both, and I am.
never launch on a questionable destination without a dam good alternate. That’s the best free advice you’ll prob get today. Since there isn’t, and probably never will be a national seniority list, your years of service ultimately don’t mean squat.
Use this downturn to fortify your resume. I just added another cert to my medical resume. You can qualify for this kind of thing easier than you may think. You could potentially get it for free. If you’re furloughed, get your logs into shape and polish off your interview skills. Get your references up to date. Take some classes at your local com college online or such. Take care of yourselves. Get into a better state of general health. Rest. Eat better.
Keep moving forward, we’re about to turn the corner, and the most prepared will go first. Not to the dogs!t places either, to the good spots. And there will be some. It’s prob gonna wind up being a feeding frenzy for pilots in the not too distant future.
Never judge a person by how he falls, but by how he gets back up.
God Bless!
