I was wondering if anyone could help answer some of these questions about Polar (I've searched for the answers and have been unable to find them so far, maybe I'm not looking in the right places.)
How long from resume' submission, to interview; then to training?
What is the interview like (sim; technical; hr; psych-eval)?
Training: Are you guaranteed 747-400, or can they put you in the classic after you accept the -400 job; How long is training in Miami; what is pay like during training; who pays for hotel/lodging during training?
Bases: Where are FO's currently being based; What are the chances of being ORD based; Can they base you in STN, or is that strictly an Atlas base?
Schedules: What are the Reserve schedules like (also min pay guarantee); How long will you sit on Reserve; How do you bid (line bidding versus Pref. Bid System); Does the company still pay/tax you for your hotel sit during reserve?
Upgrade: What is the current upgrade time like and on what aircraft (-200 vs. -400)?
Benefits: How are the health care benefits; How much do you pay monthly;401K etc.?

I've just finished a trip with the Director of Operations and class dates are undetermined as of right now but he did say that the hiring being done is for attrition and additional crews for the DHL deal. We don't have enough people sitting for scheduled service. Those are DHL's words.
As everything is not in stone the next statement could change: If you are interviewing for a position with Polar you will be hired at Polar. Vice versa for Atlas.
A lot depends on the arbitrator's ruling. If we have to merge seniority lists with Atlas chances are you will go to Stanstead. We have been told that we should know something by Christmas at the latest on this deal. If we don't merge it's on to Section 6 (negotiations for those of you that may not know the terms).
For those of you asking schedules are usually 16 on and the rest of the month off. You can be extended up to three days but you will be compensated nicely for it. Some lines are split up but not that many.
Family medical 150/month; 10 co-pays and prescription drugs. It's a very good plan in my opinion.
Pay rates can be found on this website.

I seems like I've heard mixed things about the STN LOA. If you get STN, they will position you back and forth from home of record to/from the aircraft, is that correct?
Also, the positioning days are NOT done on scheduled days off, is that correct also? I know you are at Polar but just wondering if you know the specifics.
Thanks.
Lastly, is there a turbine PIC minimum to get hired?

fr8dog,
Who is the insurance/healthcare provider?
How nicely is the compensation for the 3 extra days?
What do YOU think that upgrade times are like?
14 off sounds good... but have you ever had to do a 16, followed by a 16, so that it is really 32 days on?
I went back 20 pages and didn't find a whole lot of information... so sorry if I'm asking too many questions!

Cigna is the insurance
The extension pay is described in the contract, which is at the atlasair website, look under investor relations
The junior CA is about 6 yrs now
Unless you bid for it, you have to have a break between lines.
The -200 is presently staffed, however, as alot of things here, there is an arbitration to wait. If it is so decided, there may be another classic or so added. Right now, all hiring is for the -400. As PolarFr8 said, there are alot of moving pieces with the outcome of several arbitrations, and DHL's desires.
