Does anyone know or have an educated guess on how which airframe guys in the pool are called for classes works? Is this decision made during interviewER deliberations? For example, "we like this guy but think he'd be a better fit for the 74 or 76"...(appropriate annotation made next to his/her name as hiring paperwork is pushed forward through the process)?

I guess my question is - Is there theoretically 1 pool (one pool based purely on the needs of the company at that time) or 2 (a 76 candidate pool and a 74 candidate pool)? Basically, is where you are going kind of already predetermined once in the pool (or your respective pool if there are 2) or is it totally a crapshoot?

anybody??????

guys haven't been able to reliably determine where the good/bad letter comes from (usps, fedex) let alone what airplane their gonna get.

I just found out from a 767 guy working on the program ramp-up / ETOPS certification that the feds are requiring the First Officers hired into the 767 to have previous 767 experience since it is a brand new program for Atlas with many Captains that have not flown that airplane before.

This is good news for 767 guys looking for a job. All other will be hired into the 747.

Maybe some truth to this, but a friend of mine jut got placed into the 767 without any prior experience in that airplane, heavies, or international.

Anybody in, or know of someone who is in a November class?

CargoWannabe said it was just for the initial class of 12 new hires.

Just finished the entire thread. A thank you goes out to all who have taken the time in contributing your insight into the hiring process.

Any current Atlas folks know how senior CVG is in the -400? Thank you! Waiting for baby to be born so I can go to training! Can't wait...for both!!

Thank you!

CVG was a Polar base and we haven't run a new base bid yet so sort of hard to say.
