In the pool, mid-Sept interview.

I believe there are 8 swimming from my interview group.

What day in Sept. did you interview? I was the 14th. It sounds like around forty something interviewed in Sept. I think the pool was almost empty before our interviews. If half got the pool lettet then there should be thirty something in the pool. I hope they run a few big classes soon!!

We interviewed together on the 14th... I believe you are correct, the pool was almost empty when we interviewed. Got words from a friend "flying the line" at Atlas that the pool we're in is reportedly getting small again and with training going through the holidays, there is a good chance that those of us "swimming" should hear something in the near future (relatively speaking). Can't wait to join the Atlas family and keeping the faith...

It is a racked and stacked pool it is theoretically possible to be in the pool and never get called.

HercDriver130 - appreciate the insights on how the pool can theoretically work... hopefully I am not a bottom feeder! When compared to the other employment options (which are currently few), Atlas Air really appears to be a "gem in the rough" with great folks, challenging but good flying, great jets, and a bright future... can't think of a better place to be!!

Some more interviews around the 28th of Oct. They should be getting pool letters in the next week or so.

Sept 16th.

2 called for class, 2 no's, and rest in pool (to the best of my knowledge).

I have a few friends who work at atlas and have shared a brew or two on the road with Atlas guys. I interviewed with them in April of 2010, very early on in this long cycle of hiring. I was very impressed with the operation and the people I met. While I most certainly fly for a direct competitor you will NO WHERE in any of my posts find any negative comments about Atlas. Good luck and I wish you a short swim.

I am a Sept 14 poolie as well and was just wondering if anyone in the pool has gotten copies of their PRIA paperwork yet from any previous employers? I would think that if we are in the pool they would've had to turn in our PRIA paperwork by now.

You will receive copies of your PRIA paperwork after you accept a position.

Here's a odd question for you all...I was called by Atlas for an interview over 18 months ago while I was overseas, I called them back over a dozen times (left voicemails too) and emailed them with no response. I recently had someone walk in a resume...Should I just sit back and wait like I was never called 18 months ago or should I call them proactively again? I still have the saved voicemails from the HR lady wanting to setup an interview date from 18 months ago! FWIW-I had a friend that was a flight attendant for them on the IAH-Angola jet and she said she went thru the same thing back then. She had to call them back 10 times after they called her to set up the interview, apparently, they weren't super pro/reactive back them. Seems like things are quite a bit better now. Any advice from current Atlas'ers?

Opinion only...

Call till they answer...write emails till they answer...have your contact get in touch with HR and tell them your story (by email, phone, voice mail, etc...whatever it takes.
