Atlas Air Hiring

seafeye,
Nice summary of your experience...I'm sure some the folks in the pipeline appreciate it.
As for failed checkride(s)...IMHO, it is not about the incident that caused the failure really. It is about what you learned from that failure, and how you have become a better person, better and safer pilot, and you now make decisions with that behind you.
That is the key to learning from your mistakes, and letting those that hold the key to your future understand the progress you have made since that failure.
Employers DO NOT want to hear that everyone else but you were to be blamed for your failure; that you somehow got screwed...
Own the mistake, own the failure, and learn from it...
Congratulations on getting in the swimming pool...

Snickers:
In response to your question, "how often," I can only tell you what I did. I updated (meaning re-applied) every time I heard the window was open. That was roughly every 3 to 6 months.
I only had one internal who was a brand new captain (FO at the time).
I'll swim in the pool as long as I have to, but I'm hoping it won't be much longer! Good luck to those of you awaiting calls and who are already scheduled to interview.

Got my call this morning. Very basic stuff, all of it has been addresses here. Very, very nice HR rep, chatted for about 15 minutes. I was more nervous than a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs but I guess I did what needed to be done... On to the test!

I've read on here that there are bonus points for taking the test quickly... Can anyone verify that... And possibly define quickly? Received link today at 230 or so and plan on taking the test Friday evening... Quick enough?

From what I've read, yes. I wouldn't give it any longer though.. Congrats!

I agree with that...in the past, candidates have been told to not wait too long. Also remember, even if there are no bonus points for taking the test early, they are filling interview slots every single day. So by the time you take the test, all the foreseeable slots (if there only a few to be scheduled) might be gone.
Good luck
