I don't fly for atlas but just to contribute a worthless piece of information, I have actually heard of some supplemental guys (i.e. ATA) refer ro the FO as:
1. Co-pilot
And even
2. Co-star
No joke. Carry on.

Co-pilot is still a common term in Part 135 it seems, at least I still hear it regularly.
The one that bugged me when I first started 135 was how often the two positions would be referred to as Captain and SIC. Places and people wouldn't call it Captain/FO, or PIC/SIC, it was Captain/SIC.
Oh well, I've gotten over it.

If people are getting "sensitive" to SIC,FO,Co-Pilot,or whatever other description that is being used, I would say maybe you are being "overworked,fatigued, stressed out" etc. and need to take some time off.
Relax, or you will give yourself a heart attack or something worse. So many more important issues out there than getting worked up over this.
