So here is the reg.
“Sec. 135.83
Operating information required.
(a) The operator of an aircraft must provide the following materials, in current and appropriate form, accessible to the pilot at the pilot station, and the pilot shall use them:
(4) For IFR operations, each pertinent navigational en route, terminal area, and approach and letdown chart.”
The company says that the pertinent information is the departure and destination approach plates as well as an alternate if needed, and a tight view of the course copied from Jepp. View (not the whole en route chart). My question is- What does the FAA regard as pertinent? My logic is that a re-route, airport closure, or problem in flight requiring landing would put you out of the provided information.

I'm not sure what the FAA would regard as legal, but for safety reasons I would need enroute, terminal, and airport plates to support ALL realistic divert fields along the planned route.
If the airplane caught on fire at any point enroute, I would want all the info to reach the nearest runway from that point.
That would probably cover you with the FAA too.
