When my grandparents were born, state of the art in aviation were biplanes with fabric wings. In their lifetimes we went to the moon.

I’m pretty sure my 15 years remaining in aviation is safe. I wouldn’t guarantee my son a 40 year career though, let alone any future grandkids.
