Employment History
My first post here, I am 48 and thinking about finishing up my training and instrument thru commercial and been researching possibilities on her. If I had gone to ATP in around 1998, I would have been done with everything and should have been with a major. At this point I would be ecstatic to just get a job with a regional and stay there until retirement. Instead I took a job with the railroad, good money but the working conditions are not so much, a long call for us is 3 hours, and 1 day off a week on that.
In researching aviation jobs I noticed there are several hiring flight attendants, I suggested to my wife that she could apply. The question I have is how important is dates of employment. She's good on all of them except from around 94 to 96, not even sure of the length, she worked for the post office, but can't find anything to firm up the dates.
How much will this matter to a prospective employer that its not entirely accurate, or will they even go back that far?
Thanks. Rob

I think the furthermost I had to account for was 20 years, and they didn't ask for documentation on the stuff way back when.
You're still young enough to have a good career, especially if you stay at a regional. You could get the mins by the time your'e 50, sooner depending on how much you can fly. And I think there's a good chance retirement age will be raised to 67, but of course you can't count on that until it happens.

A few pilot hiring departments want every month accounted for after 18 years of age. I don’t know much about FA applications. They all have to ask for 10 years. I’m sure some ask for longer back but that far ago would seem rare.
