Question for airline pilots.
Does anyone know if there's any kind of way to get financial aid for flight school? I'm 23, my name is Sean. I'm selling my car in a month to get some money to hopefully at least start flight school and have some time to work in between so I can continue to pay from there. From my understanding the entire process from start to finish costs around $20,000. I'm still determined but given my financial situation I can't help but feel slight discouragement. I just figured I'd ask here if anyone has any advice.
Now I'm seeing some stuff online that says it can cost up to $100,000+

Pre-2008 you could get unsecured loans for flight training, but they don't do that any more.
You'd need security or a co-signer today.
For a university degree program, you should be able to get a regular student loan, but I suspect that would only be for the academics, not the flight training. You will need a degree anyway if you don't already have one.
The military GI bill will pay for flight training, you would obviously need to serve but not necessarily as an officer.

Most programs run closer to $65,000+.
You can get financial aid/student loans for university programs to include the flight training since it is a degree requirement. For non-university programs such as AllATPs or your local part 61 flight school there aren't many options I know of belong saving pennies and paying, or working the ramp as you go.
