Stay with the airlines or go 91...

Personally I’m not a fan of Part 91.
A couple of giant generalizations:
- Owner gets an itch you need to go
- Accountant gets an itch the airplane needs to go.
- Schedules, wages, bonuses are all on the honor system and can be rescinded anytime.
- Additional duties from acceptable such as cleaning the airplane to unacceptable.
- No FAA oversight, no POI, no Head of Maintenance no nothing.
Now this is obviously different if you fly for Coca Cola, Walmart or Nike or any other top 50 companies.

I left a Fortune company that had great people, nice planes, and a great safety culture because my schedule was constantly changing. Like, I’d have the weekend or a Thursday off, or whatever, then it’d change a day or two prior to me being on call or flying.
At 121, even reserve is a schedule. 91, good luck (at the vast majority of places).
