They expect officers to have an H. In this day and age, they also would expect enlisted to have an H. Years ago it was normal for junior enlisted to get an GUH, but anyone who got out in this century would have been given an H unless there was some issue.
I think the OP can ultimately get a major job, but he'll have to address this carefully (get professional interview prep, from someone familiar with mil). What's on the DD-214 might be significant.
Regionals won't care, unless something on the DD-214 hints at felony.
