I shaved my beard for my 121 interviews. I watched one of my classmates in my first 121 indoc get let go because he didn’t shave his beard before he showed up to class and they got ****ed off they had tell him to… then the recruiters got called to the carpet for hiring him with a beard in the first place. Kinda petty, but welcome to 121 management… Having seen that, I wouldn’t even bother to show up to the interview if I had a beard.

About a year ago I had a guy show up in a nice suit, but he had Edward Scissorhands hair. It was quite shocking actually and he didn’t get an offer. It was not a sign of good judgement.

The interview standard for a regional I know of is black/white. No beards whatsoever, no matter what lame excuses you can come up with about your current job. Show up with a beard, the answer is an automatic no, it's the first item on their sheet.

Employers should be concerned that every pilot is looking to move on, regardless of your grooming choices, and more concerned with how they can retain you, versus your concern that they'll get rid of you because you elected to shave on any given day.
Use it as a covert, yet overt, sign that you're looking elsewhere.

Think about that. In the meantime, keep on making excuses that won't get you closer to a successful interview. Good luck.
The only reason any man ever shaves, or has ever shaved, in the history of the world, was to attend an airline interview. Did you know that?
You're the only one who does.
