Best QoL for someone thinking about living in the Boston area? I’m competitive for all the majors—obviously targeting Delta but can someone provide insight on timeline and seniority? Is AA officially out? How would accepting a job at JetBlue compared to majors? Would it be worth commuting somewhere else? Thanks!

Jetblue is a major (but not a legacy). They are doing not-so-great financially right now and do not have the kind of retirement numbers that the big three have. So career prospects would be limited compared to other airlines, but if you have a mil retirement and just want to drive to a cush job it might be OK for you.
There's a chance they'll get bought by a larger airline also.

Inside 128? Inside 495? Outside 495?
How close and in what direction matters for if NYC is an easy enough drive. My parents house (just west of Plymouth, inside 495, well outside 128) to LGA is 216 miles and 3+28 to drive right now. It's actually faster to drive than have a legal air commute for Delta. (Backup flight spacing eats 2 hours right there)
You'd be out of Short Call range though so you'd need to head that way. I'd probably roll out 90 minures before going on call that way if they called right at beginning of period I'd be "2 hours ish"
Not sure on other airlines commute rules/timing.
Being 495 belt south and west often makes it where you'd be 1/3 of the way there before you'd get to parking at Logan.

Likely at the south end of 495, but good considerations. Thank you for the reply!
How BOS ish are you talking?

I'd say apply everywhere, (Big 3, JB) that has a BOS base or something drivable. Better to make the "Do I stay or go" decision sitting on a Seniority List.
