Default Tattoos

I have 3 tattoos on my body. 2 which can always be covered up and one which, can only be covered up if I wear a longsleeve shirt. My intent is to work for an airline however, I would always wear a long sleeve or jacket in the public eye. When I'm in the flightdeck I plan on taking off my jacket or wearing a long sleeve shirt still. My question is will this present a problem when it comes time to interview for an airline job. Also, would it be considered unprofessional to have a short sleeve shirt in the flightdeck with visible tattoos to a captain? FYI all the tattoos are of good taste I have one on the arm, one on the back, and one on the forearm which, completely covers it. THANKS!

Ray, try the search function on the top/left. This topic has been covered. Basically, if out of view for your interview and in public, you should be fine.

Ray,
Slice is right. This is a conservative industry by nature. No ifs, ands or buts, your tattoos must be covered for the interview.
It's a good idea to cover them while in public (flying) as well, but this falls under the individual company policies.

Hope that helps!

Get rid of the tatoos if you can.

This is a very conservative industry but I can't say I agree with the above. As long as you wear long sleeves for the interview (which you should anyway) and during the time you're on the line you should be fine. One of my friends has full sleeve tatoos on both arms and now works in the majors.
