In New York a bench warrant is a must arrest situation . Driving with 3 or more suspensions on 3 different dates is a must arrest and car impound . There is a slim chance the officer has something better to do and ignore it but once the dispatcher tells him his subject is wanted discretion is gone .

The Ticket was for an Unregistered vehicle. Turns out the car had current registration. I was able to get a DMV printout for $5 and that gave me all I needed. I had a lawer take care of my warrant and now he is going to go to court for me and try to get it off my record. I did put my date available all the way into May. So it will defiantly be cleared up by then.

Easy to miss something like a registration expiration, but it's important to try and stay on top of these things. I think some of the other guys on here are giving you crap about it because you said something along the lines of I needed to decide on whether to eat or pay for the ticket.
That statement shows that you willingly knew you had to pay the ticket and decided to ignore it. (Never a good idea)

I think owning up and taking responsibility for it is always your best course of action. Integrity is one of those things that stands out in an interview.

As far as the application is concerned, I don't remember if there is a question asking if you have ever had a warrant out for your arrest.
I know there is a question asking about a felony, but I don't believe this driving-related warrant qualifies as a felony offense. (Doubt it does, just not sure)

Be sure not to over-explain the situation if there is an area asking to explain. State the facts, explained what happened, keep it factual without emotion, and, above all, accept full responsibility for it.
I'm sure if you are honest and upfront in the interview this will really be a non-issue.

So which was it, a speeding ticket or a failure to register your vehicle? You've given two different reasons for the warrant.

It COULD be speeding in an unregistered vehicle, resulting in 2 separate tickets at the same time. Talk about a bad day! :eek:

Why not just call the law enforcement office that issued the ticket. They're the only ones that can clear the thing up for you anyway.
