Default Dui charge and trying to get into canada

Has anyone faced this perdicament? I was charged wit a dui however the charge was thrown out. I recently interviewed and i discussed my crim history and the concern of getting detained in canada came up. They told me that i would need to obtain a pardon of rehabilitation from the canadian consolate in order to be deemed alright in the eyes of the canadian govt. I am confused because i was never found guilty of the crime however i assume since i wad still charged i need this paperwork? If anyone has any info please help me if you can.

I came up with this ...

Rehabilitation For Persons Who Are Inadmissible to Canada Because of Past Criminal Activity

Note the table down the page ... "You may be inadmissible."

*You must provide an officer with complete details of charges, convictions, court dispositions, pardons, photocopies of applicable sections of foreign law(s), and court proceedings to allow the officer to determine whether or not you are inadmissible to Canada.
So you'll need to contact the nearest Canadian consulate. They should be able to tell you what you specifically need to provide.
