Default Job Fair questions.

Basically, what should I expect?

Going to the April 1 job fair in LAS. Primarily hoping to see Delta.

What's the skinny? Anyone have recent advice from the last year or so?

Thanks.

I went to the Job Fair last Nov in Dulles. Basically you sign up with FltOps and get a number to meet with the reps. You wait in line and when it's your turn you get 3-5 mins of face time with whichever rep calls you up. You hand them your resume and they will look it over and ask you some questions. The first question he asked was "Why Delta" and it went from there. I give credit to the two Delta reps as they both were smiling a lot and seemed to really enjoy being there and talking to everyone. On the contrary when I met with the JetBlue HR rep she seemed more concerned about trying to hurry everyone thru, and didn't really even look at me when I was talking to her. There was a JetBlue pilot there also meeting with people and he seemed real friendly, but unfortunately I ended up meeting the other rep just because of my place in line.

Was it worth it? The five minute meeting with Delta made it all worthwhile as it seemed to go really well. The time with JetBlue was a waste, and I say that mainly because the HR lady I spoke with seemed like all she wanted to do was hurry up and get out of there.

Thanks for the response!

May I ask what other types of questions they asked or was it mostly an overview of your time/career progression? Did you bring your logbooks?

And, how were the Delta reps dressed?

Thanks again.

The rest of the questions were regarding my time in the Navy and tell me about yourself type things. Really just a condensed interview.

The Delta reps were both wearing slacks and button up long sleeve shirts. No ties. I'll add that it is really emphasized to dress business casual and leave the tie at home and 95% of those who attended did just that. I wore a pair of slacks and sport coat with no tie. That was a common theme. There were some who wore suit/tie. They tended to stand out and not in a good way as many comments were made regarding that they may look good but don't know how to follow directions.

No need to bring log books. All you need are copies of your resume.

Hope that helps.
