To all of those overachievers out there. DO NOT REPLY. This post does not apply to you. This post only applies to those who are imperfect, made a mistake, been judged, been arrested, been convicted, had a bad day... etc...etc... In other words if you are a good little republican find
another convo to invade.

APC forums has been a great tool for industry insight and news. I wish to thank our Founder, Co-Founders and Moderators for the work they put forth to inform our industry and industry hopefuls.
Unfortunately I am guilty of not taking heed to the wealth of information available. I know how to use the search function. (this should cover a few smart *** replies). Recently our economy has left
employers picking and choosing what suits them best. Able to pick the best apples and throw out the rest. For those with blemishes we will be left out. Why? Because we live in a finger pointing society. When you make a mistake it is documented, recorded, stored on hard drives and made public. I have been very Ill for a week now and past some time by being glued to the screen of my phone reading posts in the PRE-INTERVIEW & ASK THE PILOT RECRUITER forums. To say the least ( I am disgusted )! Disgusted at how society comes down to every little thing you do in life. People are being judged WAY too much. For instance when I was 21 I got a traffic ticket in Scottsdale,AZ. I go to court and am found guilty. Now go see the Clerk. Now pay us the $493
by the end of the day or we will suspend your license. Which is what happened. So I was punished for being poor, or for not having $493 right then and there, depending on how you look at it. No payment plan options, no options at all. This is what it comes to. I have to explain on some Airline APP that my driving priveldges were suspended
because I was poor. Or did not have the money right then and there. How about the fact that I can't even find a job. I have to explain to some airline APP that i can't find a job....WHAT.... If filling out and Airline APP is really just a tell us every little mistake you made form... then I don't think I will ever participate. What about the time I was treated so badly at an FBO I work at and basically quit, no call no show and didn't care.... I have to explain that to an Airline APP. Yeah I have gaps in employment, yes I have a misdemeanor from 9 years ago, yes I have a couple F's
on my college transcripts. *** has our society come to. We are only to be judged for mistakes. MISTAKES!!! We are held
to minor indescretions that happen in our lives. But yet the majority of our lives can be bountiful living and yet we are
always held account for the few moments we may make a wrong decesion, take the wrong turn, or have some bad luck. I can just
imagine the arrogant replies already from the -A type pesonalities.. (note the minus before the A) I am sick and tired of
being looked down upon for not being perfect. If the 121 industry demands it then so be it! I will never even apply. They can
keep their POS downward spiral trend and never see the likes of me. To those of you out there who have (some splainin to do).
Better get creative. I refuse to explain to an Airline APP that,(I was treated so badly by an employer that I up and quit).
That my DL was suspended because I was poor in richiville.... that yes I inhaled!!!!

Flame on compadres!!!!!!

No flame issuance here. Some of us, me included, were left to fend for ourselves without mommy and daddy to bail us out. Others, think they are perfect, but it's easy to think that way when mommy and daddy have told you that your whole life.

I hear you fellow "human" being. 95% of your life lived within the boundaries of sanity and then to be judged on the other 5%. Makes you wonder about the society we are born into. I have been told by people smarter then me that even the "big" man upstairs isn't perfect either. Don't repeat this in church!

The thing to do is to see the treatment you receive as an applicant as saying little or nothing about how decent you are as a human being. It is only a measurement of how well you score in relation to the other applicants in terms of viability as a profit maker for the company. That's it, nothing more. Companies generally dislike morality because it interferes with the profit margin. If you are being passed over, do not take it as a statement about you as a person it is a statement about how many other people appear to be more profitable as investments or "human resources" at the time you apply. Profit is not humanity, it is just profit. It is a hard thing to distinguish when your livelihood is connected to it perhaps, but they are two separate things. Pilots are run roughshod in terms of background qualifications because it is a safety-sensitive profession, but that means they must be extra clear on what the difference is.

Buck up and apply. I have some of the same things you have and have worked at two 121 operators including a Legacy carrier. Just because you have to disclose info doesn't mean you won't get a job. Part of the reason you have to disclose is to prove you are honest.

If you don't want to admit your failures in life you definitely won't learn from them.

No flame intended. Just a harsh wake up call that you can make it.

Good luck.

It is not just the airline industry. Everything is this way.

It is silly and out of control, I agree.

However, once you're able to calm down about it and take a breather, you'll need to get back up, dust yourself off, reflect upon what you learned about those experiences and be ready to talk about them when the time comes.

We're all human, I wish you the best!

As someone who hires people, I look at the response to your situation as you feeling sorry for yourself and placing the blame for your license suspension on others (My license got suspended because I'm poor). That response would automatically rule you out as an employee in my book.

However, if you said "My license got suspended because I broke the law by driving too fast" I would view you as a person that accepted responsibility for their actions and would certainly not rule you out as an employee.

Speeding is one thing we have all done at one time or another. I don't speed purposely, because I don't want the ticket, but sometimes you accelerate too much, or don't realize the limit dropped, or get distracted, or whatever. So a speeding ticket isn't a big deal in my book - several in a short time period is another story though.

Dude you're not doing the hiring at Pinnacle, different story. Their dim view is that if you cannot follow the rules of the road, how can you be expected to follow company rules, and FAR'S? A ticket or any priors, guaranteed no interview from what I have gathered from reading the posts on this forum.

That will change about five minutes after they can't fill a class. I'm going to agree with the OP - the discriminating factors du jour are largely based on what it takes to quick eliminate 90% of the applications/resumes and are in fact completely arbitrary. If you happen to fall into that percentage, you're out of luck regardless of how competent you are or what you have done to change your life since then. It is unfortunate, but it is the reality of this very "fouled up" industry. I sincerely hope the OP can get a fair evaluation of their qualifications...

As I said, you got a TRAFFIC ticket because you broke the law, not because you were poor. And the result of the TRAFFIC ticket (for some sort of illegal behavior other than speeding) was a suspension of you license.

By the way, speaking of manipulating words, when did I tell you to learn from your mistakes? I merely suggested you accept responsibility for your actions instead of saying you got a license suspension because you were poor.
