I don't disagree that someone with 5000TT would probably leave sooner. But the whole idea of preferring someone with less experience is quite illustrative of the regional dungeon-gulag- purgatory.

I have no problem with someone with 800TT and 100 ME getting on with a regional and getting good training and experience. As we all know, the main problem is pay, for whomever gets hired at a regional; someone low or high experience.

And yet well into the second decade of RJ flying nothing has changed. Arguably it's worse. But that, along with a ALPA rant, and pilot's stabbing themselves has been covered in many other thread's.
