As always, a lot of great information from the gang. I have a question regarding some past discussions and logbook corrections. It seems as though the consensus leans towards correcting an error by crossing it out with a pen, and not by using whiteout. My question is why? A false entry can be made just as easily with a pen as with whiteout and a pen. My personal preference is to use whiteout. My logbooks are as neat as they come, and 100% precise. Just curious to get some opinions.

I hate beating a dead horse here but I still need advice on what you would do. My loog book has so many errors on how flights were logged from my primary flight training days. How would you correct these if any? I had instructors logging 100% of flight under a hood and and other giving me PIC for flights when PIC wasn't warranted and so on. I just did an electronic logbook and want to just put the new correct totals on the next page in the amt forward boxes and note it and move on. But now i'm changing what others CFI's had signed off even know many of the entries were wrong. I just don't know what to do. When I read how others members went into their book and made corrections, what kind of corrections are you doing?

Just make a note on the first line in your electronic logbook in the remarks section regarding the errors. Are you bringing forward the totals or going back and entering every flight in your electronic logbook? I brought forward the totals for each type. I didn't see the point in going all the way back to day one.
