resume question
 

I am coming up on the 350 hour mark and want to start sending my resume in. I understand that I am not up to minimums yet, but I figure it doesn't hurt to send it in. I have flown right seat in a CJ2 for 5.2 hours. I was not able to log this time because it is a single pilot plane, and also I am not type rated in it. So my question is, is how should I list this on my resume? As of now I have it under my 'Qualifications' section as "-CJ2 right seat experience (5.2 hours)". Just wanted to know if anybody has any input about wording it differently, or if I should keep it like that. Thanks!

1. Were you receiving instruction during this 5.2 hr time? 2. Was the PIC an MEI (kinda goes with ? #1). If so, I'm pretty sure you can log dual received in that scenario.

I might be wrong but on an interview, they might ask you systems questions on the CJ, or that might be only true if you log PIC. Someone please clarify this.

Unfortunately the pilot was not a flight instructor. He let me takeoff, land, talk to ATC, showed me how to work the FMS and all the good stuff. It sucks that I cannot log it, especially since I was able to learn so much during those trips. But I'm hoping listing it on my resume will give me a bit of an edge over other applicants. I also was the student vice president of a flying club, and just completed my 4 year degree in Business Management, so hopefully somebody will snag me up soon!

I am almost positive at 350TT 5 hours in the left seat of CJ2 is going to make no difference what so ever on a resume. I wouldn't even bother with it, but that is just my opinion anyways good luck !!!

Don't even list it. It will make no difference and open up questions you might not want to answer. You could use it as a discussion item at an interview. Just keep grinding, there is a light at the end of that tunnel. Make sure it is not going to be a train.:)

Yeah don't bother logging that. CJ SIC time is just as worthless as King Air or 402 SIC time. Focus on your training, etc.

Anything you log time in is fair game for an interview...they could potentially ask you anything about the CJ if you try and play off like you know something about it. You make think you learned a lot about it, but the truth is you probably didn't scratch the surface of what an actual CJ pilot knows about the plane.

Go ahead and log it, in fact, log all the time on an airliner as a passenger--legally it's about the same.

I am not logging it in anyway. My question was about how I could word it on my resume to show that I have some experience flying a jet. Which is why I currently have it listed as CJ2 right seat experience (not PIC, not SIC, etc.). I figured it would look good on my resume, but it seems from your guys' opinions I should just leave it off, because they might then try and ask me questions about the systems and other things on the aircraft that I do not have a lot of knowledge about.

I'm just busting your balls. Leave it off. Keep grinding. Don't try and represent something that you are not. I remember the feeling that I need to log something every time I even looked at a plane. Trust me, it will come.

Well, there is one thing you didn't tell me, but I am assuming (yea I know), you are young right? Like 20 ish. 18 would be a bonus :p. Oh, and I get to keep everything I know right now, but I'll make a copy for you too.
