Default Advice for immigrant

Hi all.

I'm new to the forum so please go easy on me! I am a South African and found out that I have won the green card lottery, it is legitimate I checked with the department of state. I'm currently employed as a Jetstream 41 FO although I have completed my command training my company has canned all upgrades. I have 3000 hours total time, mostly on turboprops. Does anybody have any advice on work in the US? I am really interested in corporate flying but will take what I can get!

Do you have US certificates? You'll need at least a commercial ME w/ IR.

If needed you can get a few hours training in a light twin and then take the checkride, not too expensive.

You could probably get a regional airline job pretty easily. Corporate jobs are a little harder, you normally need to network but you try applying to various online job offers.

I don't have my FAA license but I have made enquiries at several schools. The regionals don't seem to pay enough for me to support my wife and live a comfortable life. I'm more concerned about quality of life than what I fly.
