Don't underestimate the benefits of attending job fairs. You can meet and greet people who can do alot for you, and the networking in this business is critical. You can't do that from home on your PC.

AirTran Called!

I've been to the past 4 AirInc. conferences and have talked to AirTran at all of them. You develop a repoir and they get to know you. At this last one, I was finally within a month of availability...got the call this week for an interview in Dec...

Congrats Rolo! Who did you talk to at ATL? I talked to Shawn (CPT), his roommate used to work for my current airline, thus I had a positive vibe there! no call for me:(

Why does CAL go out to Atlanta but they don't show as planning on attending Dallas (3.5 hrs drive up the road), nor did they go to the last one in Dallas?

SWA also has not been attending the Air inc career fairs although they will be there in Dallas in January.

I also went to the Air Inc fair in ATL. I was also given an job interview on the spot for world. I would take the job in a second. From what I am told they are going to be doing sims in the next few weeks. My only negative was that I did not have an internal recommendation.
It was my first time going to one of these and I have to say that it was better than I tought that it would be.

So what i'm gathering is that unless you have some serious time to have a good shot at a heavy you don't need to go. This isn't the place to be for regionals? I'm curious as to what kind of hours you guys are walking around with. TT, PIC, Multi-turboprop/jet? I'd hate to go to one and look like jackass because I gave a resume I should have darn well known was not up to snuff.

Hey Duck I think you are right dude. Unless you have heavy time or military then you don't seem to have a chance at the big boys. You know what is funny, if you try instructing to build time, there are many airlines that don't like that and if you buy the time they don't like it either so I guess it is a get lucky situation. Keep trying DUCK. Dont give up.:)

big up
