I would like to add that being an airline pilot is a JOB first and foremost. It is not like flying for fun. You are tired a lot. You spend loads of time in hotels, and you spend loads of time just WAITING. Waiting in airports, waiting on hotel vans, waiting in crew rooms, waiting crammed between bovine pax because scheduling didn't list you on your deadhead until the last minute. But before that, you will be waiting on students, and waiting and not getting paid while doing so. It's kind of anti-climatic, because getting all your ratings at some place like ALLATPs is a ballbuster.

Airlines, are not the only way to go. As you are in agriculture, have you considered crop dusting. You'll make way more than a regional FO and you can gain flight, money, and time to see if you really like flying.

It will be a tough road, but its not too late. I learned to fly late, during college but I was a DC9 Captain at 29. I had a good career with a National airline, however it went out of business and now I fly for a Regional. Not fun, but it happens. The one thing you have going for you is there are a lot of old airline pilots that will be retiring in the next few years. Better hurry though or you will miss the hiring wave. Good luck!
