Question Dealing with the FAA

What have your experience been with the FAA, in particular the FSDO, POI's, check rides, enforcements etc. Good or bad experience. Not looking for hearsay type dealings but personal dealings and what you think could have been done differently.

I have had good experiences working with GA ASIs out of IND FDSO, specifically quick (<17 day) turnarounds for two different RVSM LOAs.

There are different personalities just like anywhere. Most of my experiences have been good. Just remember they go to recurrent brainwashing every year, as long as you do things by the book it will be okay.

That's quick on RVSM authorizations. It's been my personal experience that who writes the manual makes a lot of difference how fast it gets approved. Many times the Person of Responsibility has no clue what's in the manual. That makes it tough.

They're just human like anyone else. Sometimes you'll run into jerks, othertimes you'll make a good friend. However, I don't recommend ****ing off an FAA rep!

Honestly, I've had better experiences with FAA examiners than DEs. Most DEs seem like they have a screw loose, but most of the FAA guys I've come across were normal.
