Default Looking for advice!

Currently trying to get hired by any major/legacy carrier.
Background: currently flying for an international airline B737 and was planning on doing the ATP with the 73 PIC Rating since I'm flying the type. Many have said is not a good idea since it my look that your only looking for SWA since they are the only one's that require it.
Good or bad idea to get the ATP with the type?

You are already flying the-737 and have time in type.
Your situation would be different from someone with only a -737 type and 0 time in type (if you believe that this would actually be uhrtful because an employer would assume you are targeting a particular airline).

I would question why you WOULDN'T get your ATP in a -737!

As long as you have actual time-in-type (more than a couple laps around the pattern) nobody will really question your motives.

Also SWA is no longer the first choice for most job seekers...career progression will move much faster at any of the big three so they're not really worried that you'll leave for SWA.
