Defunct airlines

Hi are there records of your stuff out there for defunct airlines? What do prospective airlines do to check? Like training and flight records.

Yes, all of that info will be on pria.

Do not hide anything from a future employer, be honest. What are you afraid of?

This topic has been discussed ad-nauseum. Do a search for "PRIA" or "pilot records improvement act".

What are the defunct airlines in question? There is a good chance that a prospective employer will have some of that contact information available based on previous applicants.

The government does NOT maintain records for defunct airlines. As part of the shutdown process a custodian should have been appointed to maintain corporate records, including PRIA-reportable records....perhaps a law firm or records management co. You'll have to track them down...try your old buds.

I believe those records are only required to be maintained for one year.

No, once your airline ceases operations, any records are gone. There is a process that your new employer must go through to make a "best effort" to obtain your records. It takes a bit longer to get cleared, but you won't have an issue with PRIA.

There is no requirement for a defunct company to have a guardian or custodian for the records. I just went thru this with my former employer.
