What does it take!?

Hi all!

I have been trying to get a crew scheduler position at just about any airline. I'm looking to make this a stepping stone to an airline career. I am currently a truck driver (thanks economy!), but I did the ATP thing back in '08. I also have a BS from Riddle and almost my MAS and six years in the AF doing flight physiology and scheduling training crews AND running the unit training program and a little time at AirTran in there somewhere.

WTH do I need to do to get an interview!? I have applied with SWA, Frontier, AA, PSA, Compass, and one or two others. Heard back from Frontier and SWA (SWA thankfully gave me a thanks, but no thanks email). At a loss. Please help!

Sean

I believe CommutAir has a posting for a crew scheduler position.

Thank you Flyhayes. I already applied to it on the 21st.

You might increase your odds by obtaining a Dispatcher's Certificate. There are several approved schools for this. Other than that, it is just luck and timing...

Try Virgin America. Here is the link.

PerfInit- I thought about that. I would jump on it if I wasn't in debt to eyebrows from ATP.

Hpilot09- How the hell did I forget about Virgin! Thanks!

Don't forget Alaska, as well. Plus, network with any pilots you may have known from your USAF days.

Cricket- I have been to Alaska too. Horizon as well. Finding the applications wasn't the hard part. It's landing and nailing that interview. Just gotta keep on keepin on.

On a side note. Not many pilots liked the physiology training that I gave them. If you ever visited Holloman from '04-'08 you know why. :D

Doh, I was there Aug 04 coming off a staff job, prior to the Eagle requal!
