Default Airline Apps Job Description

Curious what other folks have put in the job description container as a 121 First Officer. Its pretty easy to do the canned Assist the PIC in daily airline operations, not sure how much these boxes are looked at but it seems if you can make your app stand out in anyway I cant see it hurting.

Thanks Whisper, I know I am overthinking some of these questions...

Here is one more the question in the addendum
In the past two years, have you been employed by a company or applied to a company with whom you were subject to DOT required drug and alcohol testing?

This question is not in regards to the HIMS program is it?
I assume if you are at a 121 carrier and have been given a random drug tests the answer is yes

I assume if you are at a 121 carrier and have been given a random drug tests the answer is yes? Correct. However you don't actually have to be given a test. Example would be you've been there for 6 months and are subject to testing but you haven't actually been tested yet. So you are correct, answer is YES

Hope this helps,

Do not put a canned answer in this section. Remember that someone will look at your application and they are building a story based on the information you provide. Canned answers or boring. Describe who you are and what makes you different.

If anybody ever has a question about their application you can send us an email, PM or post it on this tread. Good luck.

Another Airline Apps question: What should you put for the phone and address of a former employer (flight school) that went out of business? What about the phone and address for past overseas military assignments (permanent stations, not TDYs)? For now I put down a 15 digit phone number I found from Google and my old dorm number, but I would imagine that info is pretty useless.

For a flight school that went out of business, list the last know address and phone number on the application.

For overseas assignments list any information you can. If you cannot remember your supervisor's name or phone number list "UNKNOWN." in the box.

What about filling in the salary information for current side jobs and past jobs? I'm unsure about putting anything in there because I don't know how it will be viewed.

Listing your salary information depends on the job.

For military and corporate jobs list it as: $122,000

For airlines jobs list your current contract rate: $87.32/HR

For other jobs you can list as: $2.37/HR + tips, $300/Day, $4000/Month, Commission only.
