Did I perhaps express it wrong? No generous, just my desire/goal.

Thanks for the good advice I think I am going to stick around flying in Mexico for at least 2 -3 more years, the QOL is awesome down here and I am getting a bunch of jet time.

Now.. I have another decision to make, my company is very small we only have 3 ERJ 145 right now but they are expanding very soon, they are considering to purchase a couple 717. I have about 600 hours on the 145 and they just told me I could upgrade to captain with the minimums required by the insurance (1000 hours in type).

The other option is to go into the 717 as a F.O and start from 0 on my way to captain, of course there is also the problem that I don't know when they are going to need more captains since they are only getting two 717 for now.

what would you do?

Stay in the jungle jet (ERJ) and get PIC time. That is more valuable than SIC time in the 717 in my humble opinion. Wish I could join you down there (money goes a lot further at 18 pesos to the dollar) but they don't hire American-born pilots.
