Default Driving History

Hoping someone knows the answer for this one. I've received several (3) minor tickets in the past. The far past, ie greater than 10 years ago when I was a young buck. Problem is I cannot remember the dates. I could give a + or - 5 years at best. I just pulled my official driving record from the state and it's come up completely clean. It seems they want exact dates on the apps.

So, do I just guess on the dates and enter these on apps, or just not sweat it since the record is clean? Any advice?

If it's over 10 years ago I wouldn't worry about it. Get a copy of your national driving record as well, just to be sure. If both clean, then you should be fine.

FYI, I got a speeding ticket 11 years ago and it did not show up on either state or national record. I didn't disclose it on my application and passed the background check for my current airline. I got copies before hand a saw they were clean.

List all driving violations on your application, even ones that do not show up on a state record or national driving record. You must be honest on your applications. If you do not remember the actual date or location of the violation, you may state in the disposition section "Date is estimated, location is estimated." By stating it this way you are being honest on your application even if it does not come up on the background check.

One of my clients had 14 speeding tickets and he was hired at Delta. Just be honest, recruiters are not too concerned about tickets that happened a long time ago. If anyone has a question about their application please send us a PM.

Thanks for the replies. I'll just give a best estimate from what I can remember. Hope I'm not forgetting anything in the way way past!
