Failed Part 135 checkride...consequences?
I failed my first FAA checkride at the previous Part 135 op I worked for... went nearly full scale deflection on the ILS because I was unfamiliar with the Garmin 430, and spent more time looking at it than the crosshairs. I passed just fine on the second attempt, after having some more practice with the GPS. Funny thing is, most of the new pilots there failed their first checkrides too... one guy failed even twice. The POI we had was known for failing people on every slight mistake (although in my case blowing the ILS isn't exactly "slight"). I guess it's at least somewhat reassuring to know that others do fail from time to time, but I'm wondering if this is going to be a problem at an interview with a regional, and someday at a major?

If asked to explain your failure, relate your lack of familiarity, what you did to correct for it on the retake, and that you passed. Don't mention the rest.
Definitely do not discuss the examiner, other people's failures, or other details surrounding the check. Just what happened, and what you learned from it.

Little late to the party but your CP should have gotten a talking to also for sending you up.
I'm assuming you went through a "approved training program" on the 430/ airplane?
