I am about to change jobs, I've been flying Helicopters primarily for the last 15 years with some small fixed wing mixed in. All my Helicopter time is turbine, 99% of my fixed wing is piston with only 165 multi. I'm considering applying to either helicopter medevac with a 7/7 schedule and +-65K salary, or the regionals. Problem is I don't live at a regional domicile, closest would be about a 1 leg commute plus 1.5 hr. drive. I originally was going to apply to the "commuters" in the early nineties but at that time they wanted 2500 hrs. and 500 multi which I was working on when I came upon this job. Has anybody done both? Opinions?
I'm about to turn 50 and looking for second career, the large twin jets have always appealed to me, just don't know if I'd regret it after the new wears off with the commute and all (after reading the regional threads).
(This is assuming I could get hired)
Thanks
