Atlas vs Kalitta vs Western Global
A good friend is trying to break into the ACMI world and asked me where I thought he should go. I told him to go wherever he could find a job since he is kinda lower time. Out of the 3 airlines listed in title of post, which one is the place to be right now?? Thanks for any and all replies..

Tell him to throw his resume at both Kalitta and Atlas and work for whichever one calls him. Kalitta is the flavor of the month because of the new contract, however that also means the hiring is very selective. Either one is a decent place to hang your hat in the ACMI world.

WG... non union, at will employment, day rate,,, not hourly rate, pay has come up there, lots of metal...not a lot of pilots. Owner is Jeff Neff... who use to own Southern Air.

Western Global has home basing, like Kalitta. They are based in MIA, so if u live in MIA that may be a factor. Their MD11s fly to Africa a lot. I think they have 2 747-400s. Atlas has gotten a number of WG pilots in the last 1+years.
Probably easiest to get a job at WG now, then Atlas.
Info: Other Atlas posters said all programmed Atlas new-hire classes all 767 for the rest of this year...

And as usual, the "EXPERT" of Atlas spews forth erroneous information.
Western Global Airlines is a cargo airline founded on March 6, 2013, based in Estero, Florida, United States. Its only hub is located at Sarasota–Bradenton International Airport. Wikipedia
