Poolies, how often does everyone update thier stats/quals with UPS. I have accumulated about 60 hours heavy international time since I interviewed. I did not have international time prior to the interview. Just wondering if its worth an update to UPS. Thoughts?

Absolutely! I was told by HR that you should update.

Congratulations on getting on with UPS. However, now you'd better change your Avatar to something less provocative, as UPS takes a dim view of employees dissing their equipment.

Hey, JetJok, there is a real souped up packge car with chrome wheels and a flame paint job parked inside the fence at the Worldport. Someone gave me a poster of that very package car for my nephews when I stopped in to check on a friend's application. I think the company is proud of it!

If only the KY drivers would realize that they are not perpetually reliving turn #2 at Talladega, our no-fault insurance rates would not be so high. Yikes! I think the DMV pulls and collars the turn signal circuit breakers when they issue folks here a KY driver's license.

Be safe out there and drop in sometime to see what you've missed in the last 16 years since you painted your ride purple.

Thanks Ernst, for the offer. I will stop in to SDF before I retire, to see the facilities and to visit old friends who still live there in Louisville. It will be fun. As for the souped up package car, it's good to see that UPS has finally gotten a little sense of humor about itself. That certainly was lacking in the beginning. And by the way, it's not just in KY that the drivers are required to leave their brains at home, you should see them in TN.:)

Yes...plus a Master's degree. I was surprised how much attention was placed on academic background in the interview.

I have been updating and emailing and even visited HR since 2005. The response is always the same- thanks for the update, its not required and the pool is reviewed to meet the needs of the company. As a poolie who interviewed 3/05 and in the pool since 4/05. I know there are about 60 poolies. With the pace of hiring , I thought I'd be out of the pool by now but at least they're still filling classes.

my quals are
B.S. from ERAU
15,000+ TTL (mil/civ)
4,000+ PIC
2100+Heavy Int'l Jet PIC (pax&cargo)
Current and Flying Cargo out of ANC in B747F

Hard to believe I have been in the pool for so long but its not the record yet. So until I get to Brown; the beer is cold at humpys, fishing season is coming, days are warming up and getting longer. See ya in ANC

Just an FYI...

While it is certainly the exception, an MD-11 type rating will suffice in lieu of the Bachelor's degree.

I was surprised how little attention was paid to academic background in mine...no Master's here though...

Out of curiosity, how long was it between finishing your psych online form, and them calling with an interview offer. Then how long out (1 week, 1 month, more) were they offering interview dates? Then how long did it take to get the poolie letter?

Basically time line from finishing the online psych assessment to poolie letter?
