We do have pilots overseas. They generally make their way to one of our destinations i.e. LEJ, BRU and ride the aircraft to work or even get CS to start them from some such place. it's not impossible but they will not get tickets for you from outside the lower 48, ANC and HNL

the number you are looking for is a moving target. Last year personally I averaged 87 hours of pay per month. I had several months at 64 due to training and other reasons. OCT, NOV and DEC I averaged close to 100 pay hours each of those months. Many, many pilots had pay credit months of 130-150 with OT days. I know of a couple in the 160 range. Actual hours flown probably average 50-60 per month. YMMV... and there are always outliers of min guarantee and HUGE months.
It does slow down sometimes, but if the rumors about aircraft we are buying are even a little bit true, it won't slow down much for a while.
That being said, it is still great for it to be a decision that *you* make. You can fly guarantee if you want of pick up OT if you want. There is no junior assignment and I haven't heard any stories about backlash if you say no.
That's worth a lot to some people. At previous brand X's nobody ever answered the phone. Here at least you can pick up and see if it is something you are willing to do. I hadn't realized what a huge difference that is from previous airline's operations . Sorry, got off on a tangent there... But you get the idea.

I flew 118.2 block in October and got paid for 179 hours. November was 96 credit hours.

That's $20,000 if he is on first year pay
If it's was me, a 8yr CA it would be $42,000
The next guy that says we lowered the bar can stuff it

Timed out in December with almost identical numbers and frankly quite happy with one months pay and PD of >$45,000. If thats considered a low bar then..............

Based on some feedback from Axis Mundi, I think that the high bar for a month in 2017 was a little north of $60K. And, there was at least one pilot (not me, boo hoo..) who came in over $500K for the year. So, okay, maybe we don't have the top tier retirement. But, I will take the $ and Cadillac insurance deal and make my own damn retirement. Just sayin...

nope....though i'm sure many younger guys are waiting to get the heavy left seat time to eventually get on with a major - though many that you would expect to do that have said they like it here and are staying vs going to united and essentially being a regional guy all over again

The thought of having to commute again pretty much rules out wanting to go anywhere else. We may not be the highest compensated after the first year, but we still make enough to be very comfortable, and doing better than most people.
