FX Mumbai layover?
Looking at a layover in Mumbai, and have heard several guys mention 2 businesses over there--one that does leather jackets/other leather goods, and another that does bracelets, gemstones, etc. Thought I'd surprise the frau.
Anybody have contact info for either of these places? Figure it'd be better to find out ahead of time before trolling the streets for Hep C...

It seems to me that there's a leather shop down in the lower level of the Leela hotel, that has some very good values, and they'll be there the next time your through, so if there's a problem, they can get it right. As well, there's probably not anything that you'd want or need that can't be gotten in Mumbai. If you really want to surprise your wife, get yourself some Viagra, from what I was told by my first officer, they are just a few pennies each. Then you'd be able to stay up all night, instead of the usual 2 minutes and then nighty, night.

Hmmm. Have to agree with MD11Fr8Dog. A reference to your F/O is kinda like saying "I have this friend....", but really it's about yourself

Nah, I've been married for 37 years, to the same girl (although, for some reason, she's grown old), so the once or twice a year, whenever the urge strikes her, I get lucky. For those times, believe me, I don't need any help.

Anil is the leather guy at Rodeo Drive (no kidding) over at the Oberoi Towers. Gary is the jeweler also at the Oberoi Towers. You'll have to get a ride over there from the Leela or the Sheraton, wherever we're staying now. It'll take 45 mins to drive and since it's your first trip, it'll take several years off of your life too.
Anil measures you for your jacket, makes it, and will deliver it to your hotel in about 24 hrs. Mine was around $120 a few yrs ago. Gary will show you everything in his store and might even take you to lunch. He can custom make jewelry but you'll have to return to pick it up. Gary has VERY nice things.

Gary [email protected] or mobile # 98201 54505. Contact him and he'll have someone come out and get you. Take him up on his offer for lunch at the Leopold cafe, you will really enjoy the food.

I called Anil at Rodeo drive and he was able to come to the hotel and measure my Captain and myself. He will take every mearsurement needed to make you a suit and he keeps it on file so you can order anything from him online in the future. We had our jackets later that night, delivered at 0100. His Cell: 91 986 702 3201

I paid $120 for the jacket about a year ago.
Hope this helps.
