Default Ameristar Question

I am trying to find out about ameristar. I went to their website and read what they had on there. Couple Questions: Their website states 1500 total time and 500 multi-engine for SIC'S on the falcons and lears, is this accurate or way off what they are actually hiring at?What is the pay like? What is the schedule like? Can the cargo guys transfer to passenger ops?

Thanks

Default What I know...

Do not go there! Work, well stay on call, for a lot of hours waiting for a load. Questionable maintance. Gone from home alot. I know three guys who work there, and I know that one of them is ready to hang himself! I am not saying that these are facts, just what I have picked up off of the street!

I would agree, dont even think of going there. How many accidents have they had in the past few years, and we have also had former employees that have worked there and have had nothing but bad things to say. If you really want to go 135 (which isnt all bad) there are alot of other reputable companies out there. So good luck.

im thinking airnet sounds like a good company. My next job I want to be able to stay for four or five years. Airnet will give me a chance to progress and PIC a Lear Jet eventually.

Any other suggestions? Where do you work?

I work at Kalitta Charters, the schedule is 2 weeks on, 1 week off. The starting pay has been updated so the first yr fo's are making between 35 & 40 a year. We have a some pretty good contracts that keep us flying quite a bit, so it has been a pretty good gig for a 135 op. Mx is excellent and they listen to what we say, by the way we are hiring.
