FCIF says program manager is returning to the line.
Seems like lots of management changes. Is this just a function of natural turnover or is there a new direction afoot? Discuss.... |
Strange things are afoot at the Circle K...
I'd be impressed if anyone remembers what movie that came from... |
It's not from the same movie that states "There's a new sheriff in town" is it?

I thought Buck just took over the program when O went to SCP... Must have had a divergence of opinion. You're right, that seems to be happening a lot lately. Rumors are that MP went back to the line because he couldn't (or wouldn't) cut his training budget sufficiently. Does not bode well for safety, IMHO.
|
We were discussing this in a van ride with a new hire recently. We told him that the Paris return made sense due to tax implications and DS retiring soon (and wanting to fly the line). With this new change, not really sure what to think? GD surprised me a little, but a new aircraft, time for a change? MP + BB both returning to the line is a new wrinkle. Also, why didn't BB stay on the 757?
Besides being a bunch of gossips and rumor mongers (formulating yet another reason to waste time), not sure how this will affect our future. Bueller? Bueller? |

Or seat progression. "O" boy. |
HOYA is correct on the movie title.
Now only if I knew my contract as well! |

Interesting how all of a sudden, many MGRS are "Electing" to return to the line. That's 4 within a week...............Haven't seen this much movement since I that 1 day I ate too many prunes.:) Of course we all know they won't actually return to the line..........can't do that if you've never been. I sure there is a Flex job or duty officer position or some other Cubicle space for these folks. |
Debe-debe-debe that's all folks..............

Juicy Rumor control.

Since PC has taken over as VP, JL the Chief Pilot has been replaced by "O", ST the MD Flt Stds has been replaced by BG (appointed, no posting), MP the MD Flt Tng has left (position posted) and JB has taken PC's old job as MD of Flt Ops. "O" was the 757 Flt Stds Mgr and was replaced by HR. KB was the 757 Flt Tng Mgr and his position has been posted.
A lot of movement- I hope not backwards. A lot of opportunities. Time for all the whiners and b!tchers out there to step up and toss their hats in the ring. As JFK said in his Inaugural Address, "And so, my fellow pilots, ask not what your Company can do for you; ask what you can do for your Company." |
Cheever cleaned house, too. IIRC.

deleted...sorry...I think I mis-read you post...nevermind. Hey, I'm at the very bottom so I agree, but I am also very respectful about the issue.

Its not personal, and it ain't really that hostile. The over 60 can stay till they are 80 on the panel as far as I am concerned.
The slowdown in seat progression and stagnating seniority are the reasons I am against anyone staying in a captain/first officer slot. Lots of folks have argued the merits of same and against the same here...I won't beat that horse. Its bad for me...so I'm against it. Its also bad for Emerald Coast, as any hiring slowdown (including SWA, CAL, DAL, etc) hurts my business. Guys want to stay longer--for financial reasons. I'm on the other side--for financial reasons. What is different from some of the posters here is I've never tried to hide my feelings or the whys. Its a zero sum game....one side will win and the other will lose. I'm pulling for my side--that's all. (and the flagarant misquote of the JFK quote was pure humor...just in case I failed to pull it off I was attempting to be funny...) |

There is no right or wrong answer.....It's all about personal selfish reason, no matter what side of the issue your on. I see both sides. I want to retire at 60. That's my selfish reason. But then again it's not all about me.......but it should be! ;) |

Back to the subject at hand....what was it....oh yeah, 757s.
I was told by a dude from flight test that the company had made the decision to reconfigure 757s with a 6 display honeywell system. ....it will be reclassified a MD57 and will share a common type rating with the MD11/10.......;) |
...I thought the subject at hand was....ME! (feeling silly tonight after getting bumped off a trip...GOD same days its a good job...)

This will meet FAA requirements for a common 727/757 type rating which will show up on your ticket as "STEAM BOEING/FEDEX ONLY". |

No, you've got it all wrong. If they did that they would have to pay 757 guys widebody pay.

Dude, don't be raining on my steam-gauge parade! :)
I know about the LCD upgrade- I listened to the (outgoing) MD of Flight Training (MP) say that the 757s will have the full-up 6-screen LCD system (which will look amazingly similar to what the 777s have when they show up). I just want to hear a steam-gauge 757 rumor on a crew bus sometime to see how much influence this pointless discussion has! |
Ah yes, BB back to the line. I personally will doubt his proficiency to check out in any airplane on the property. Lost my respect day one of the Maddog. If he's not flying a desk or 'observing' in a sim he's not worth the weak ass horse he rode in on.

I used to be an AA guy, so I surely hope we get the Pegasus FMCs!
But from what I hear the 75s will have the full LCD flight deck, along with the new APLC/PAT software. (That's FedEx specific). I hope that includes the new FMC software. FedEx (as you know) makes tons of money but refuses to spend ANY of it on airplanes. |
hey, anyone know if I'll be able to use more than "ONE SQUARE" of Cheever wipes when I use the bathroom?
