1st Class Medical Changes
I have read medicals will be changing...i think 1st class medicals are proposed by the FAA to be extended to 1 year...here is the link

just another proposal to help out the ole timers if/when the age 60 thing goes away. What about moving under 60 to 1 yr andover 60 to 3 months? Just a thought.

Actually, it's just the opposite. The proposal is to extend from 6 months to 1 year the valid period for First-Class Medical certificates for INDIVIDUALS UNDER AGE 40 ONLY. Apparently the FAA sees an issue with increased age. . |
My rather old, semi-retired FAA doc is on the FAA advisory committee. When I started going to him years ago, he said, "We've been telling the FAA for years that you young guys don't need physicals twice a year."
