Default Preferred Headsets for a 75/76

Can anyone offer any insight on a good headset for a 75/76? The noise of the cockpit doesnt bother me, but the clarity of the junk Telex's is absolutely abysmal. I'm getting pretty close to pulling the trigger on the Clarity Aloft Flex headset. I'm currently an F/O and need a headset where the mic can be switched from side to side. I've read a few good reviews for the Clarity Aloft Pro, but I havent come across a single pilot review for the Flex. Any input would be appreciated, thanks!

Not sure how long you’ve been on the jet but I’m willing to bet the noise will eventually get to you. Especially at low altitudes with PACK noise. I recommend going ANR. A Bose or DC w/ ANR would be the way I go.

+1 on the Bose proflight series 2

I traded in my A20s for a $500 credit which made the higher price point a bit more bearable, but I’m very happy with the headset.

Biggest con for me is the carrying case... I was surprised at how heavy and bulky it was when I opened everything up. Not a huge deal overall, but I had the expectation that I would be carrying around significantly less bulk/weight than the A20. Went with the bluetooth model because they don’t put an audio input port on the newer, non-bluetooth control module (like my A20 had).

My $.02 would be to get ahold of the bose earbuds and see if they’re comfortable. The few folks I’ve flown with who demo’d and returned the headset were due to the earbuds being uncomfortable. However, www.averysound.com makes custom earpieces that work with the bose headset and I’ve heard positive feedback from a few folks who recommended them. The factory ‘medium’ earbuds work fine for me now, but I’m tempted to go the more custom route with the avery molds just to get an even better fit.

Plantronics Model MS50/T30-2 with custom ear deep ear impression earpieces and boombar from Avery Sound. Get ear molds done at an audiologist for each ear and the set up is interchangeable. I fly with an earplug in the opposite ear.

Bose Proflight Series 2. Bought it the day it was released and haven’t looked back. Done multiple 6-8 hr legs. No issues.
