FDX hiring pool
To fellow poolies out there, and to those who might also know...
1- I heard KD had sent out a letter/email to some poolies stating that in fact it would be '10 to 12 months' before they could expect a class date. Has anyone gotten this letter? I have not.
2- For those of us in the pool, do we still have to keep updating our online application after having interviewed? I have not been doing it, but it suddenly occured to me that we might have to. Anyone know?
Thanks for your help.

Hiring update from Chief Pilot
5/21/07 email from he Chief Pilot ...
"Hiring
• I do not anticipate external hiring for at least 10 to 12 months.
• This does not take into account the NPRM issue."
Sorry there isn't better news ...

From a guy who spent 2+ years in the pool, I offer this to all poolies...
keep your heads up! Keep treading! You WILL be on the property eventually, and it will be worth it. When I put my water-wings on, they were saying two to three months max, that led to TWO YEARS. But it was well worth the wait! If you have other employment opportunities immediately, take them, so long as you can give them two weeks' notice. Otherwise, the pool is good water! There's plenty O' my ur!ne in it, but it still keeps you afloat!

Yes you should absolutely continue to update your profile while you are in the pool! If they decide to staff ANC MD-11 spots first again when they resume hiring you might want a shot at getting one of those slots (then again, you may not). They will look at your experience and recency when they make those decisions so you want your profile as up to date as possible.
I hope your swim is a short one, but I wouldn't count on it.
