Default FedEx to acquire used 777s in future

{FEDEX FUTURE LIFT}
SpeedNews reported today that FedEx said it eventually plans
to acquire used 777s for conversion to freighters. Meanwhile,
FedEx president and CEO Fred Smith has told Air Traffic World
he has not completely ruled out his interest in the A380 freighter
even though the company canceled its $2.3 billion order for 10
last November. Smith said some Airbus customers have expressed
an interest in a stretch version of the A380, which would have
structural features similar to a freighter version. If that happens,
"We would take another look."

Awesome! The more 777s, the better. I can hardly wait to see them here!

I agree, this airplane will make a ton of money for FDX with only 2 engines. A beauty to fly, and a nice rest facility in back for some comfy ZZZZsss......

I once worked for a carrier that had a bunch of 747-200 CRAF airplanes. Part of the CRAF conversion (that the USAF paid for) was installation of the cargo door behind the wing (also beefed up flooring and landing gear).

Crew rest facilities? We will pay extra to have them removed.

This is true...expect around 60 777s when all is said and done...but only current widebody pay..and 380s are coming as well...but at a lower price...

As long as we can figure out how to get an FE in there so the over 65 guys have somewhere to sit until they die.
