Interviewed a week ago.....first was a HR interview with Basic HR questions, Mrs Patterson was very nice.....Second interview was with the Chief pilot with an approach plate.....Know everything on the plate, how to brief and fly the approach....study the gouges! He was also very nice and answered all my questions... Given a May class date a few days later. ATR

Do they still offer the 5 week/1 week PTO option for Caravan pilots?

It’s 5/1 if you are a based pilot (essentially hired to do a specific run, which is the only run you do unless you volunteer to float certain weeks).

It’s 4/1 if you are hired as a floater.

C208 Captain: $45,000 base with the potential to earn over $75,000

I assume the pay is correct on the Profile page?

Desiflyer 04-21-2021 09:02 AM

Are they hiring on the ATR?
I haven’t seen openings on the website for almost 6-9 months now.

how can one apply?

Yes they do.

cfii2007 04-28-2021 05:46 AM

EncorePlus 05-21-2021 03:33 PM

6 routes in Memphis....all ATR....One person in class for Memphis....two for Indy.....one for Newark.....to the best of my knowledge

rezultz 11-04-2021 11:31 PM

Any hiring updates?

Hey guys. Any word on hiring SIC for the ATR? If given an interview will that be in person or online? Thanks ahead of time!

El Pilot 11-21-2021 01:34 PM

We are losing pilots left and right. Back to back classes on the ATR for sure.

Probably doesn’t hurt to apply they could still use you. It’s easier though if you are already senior and switch to part time. We have a couple part timers.

What's the reason for so many leaving?

Because everyone coming out of flight school and any young guys want to build time FAST and you won’t build time fast here. But I argue the QOL is great, if you live in base.

What happened to IFLs takeover of the ATR operation for Fed Ex?

Mountain Cargo got their act together when the last President was ask to resign his membership from their club.

What does the life of a MAC ATR FO look like?

My understanding of the 208 operation was something like Sunday Evening-Friday Morning, fly to the outstation, sit for 10 hours, fly back to base and go to bed, every 6th week you got off.

Does the ATR (and eventually the SkyCourier) operation work like that, or is it more like a traditional line schedule?

ImWatchingTV 03-27-2022 04:24 AM

I’m curious also what the schedule looks like, how is QOL for those of you living in base?

I currently live in base and QOL is great. Home every day, runs are 4 days a week mostly just out and backs unless something breaks, then there could be a wrinkle.

how many hours are you averaging a month? How long to upgrade?

If your coming in with zero 121 time and based on your seniority you could be flying around 200-500 a year. Just depends. Upgrade just depends on the factors above. But I would expect from Zero 121 time it could take around 2-3 years. This is not a job to build 121 time fast, it is a QOL job if you live in base. I came in with previous 121 time and it took a little over 2 years for me to upgrade but some of that was waiting on a class.

what’s your take on purple runway currently? I’ve heard it’s maturing as a program.

v1rotatay 06-06-2022 08:26 AM

Any idea of the movement of bases here? Can you get to a base pretty easily or is it pretty stagnant. Upgrade times pretty much when you have the hours now, seeing as they're hiring DEC?

They are hiring directly in to bases. IND, MEM and some others. If your going to live in base, I highly suggest you live there. There is no commuter clause here or union so you are not protected if you don’t make it to base for
Your flight

When will the Sky Courier be flying revenue trips?

It shouldn't be long. Probably a few months if I had to take a guess.

That being said, I'm not sure why ANYONE would want to come here given the hiring environment right now. I'm on the ATR and this place is an absolute dumpster fire. Unless you're a based pilot and home every night (even then, I'd still reconsider coming here), you're QOL will not be great. If you are a "floater" pilot, RUN, don't walk away. Floaters are treated like floating pieces of poop, hence the "floater" moniker. A based pilot in say, Memphis, who has 3 months of seniority can outbid a floater who has been at the company 10 years. Seniority means the square root of EFF ALL here.

Literally EVERYONE is hiring right now. If you have an ATP, go anywhere else. LITERALLY anywhere else. I'm currently looking for an out as I'm sick and tired of this place.

Barnacle Bill 08-27-2022 08:05 AM

Mesa is hiring. New pay is $100.00 for FO so there’s that.

All times are GMT -8. The time now is 02:44 PM.
