MEM RCP resignation
After less than 3 weeks on the job, the new MEM Regional Chief Pilot has resigned. Looks like he and "english as a second langiage" didn't see eye-to-eye on how best to work with the crew force. First blush, no big deal. Most concerning is who he was "temporarily" replaced by. Yep, you guessed it, the ACP who sent out his scolding to the crew force about abusing sick time, DM. So we lose a guy whose been a pilot advocate for over 5 years for "philosophical reasons" and he's replaced by a guy who feels compelled to dictate to us when and how we should merit using our sick time. Haven't spoken directly to JS but he earned my trust based on his track record. Any hope I had in the new SCP just disappeared. Watch your backs gents...........

And a very odd e-mail announcing his resignation. Brief and to the point. What's the scoop??
|
JS, Thanks for all of your hard work. It is sincerely appreciated.

and: Any hope I had in the new SCP just disappeared. Watch your backs gents........... "Ladies and Gentlemen, I have decided to resign my position as Central Region Chief Pilot and return to line flying. I look forward to returning to the best job in the Company, being a Line Captain and flying with you." Unless you know, absolutely, positively, no sh!t, why he resigned, perhaps we should not read all that much into it. Sometimes the climb to the top ain't worth the view. Perhaps he just decided that he didn't what to deal with a bunch of b!tch!ng, spoiled, airline pilots. Perhaps it was the drive in, every day, fighting traffic and accidents on I-240. Who knows?? |

I truly hope his temp replacement is just that, a temp. To even put DM in that position at all, frightens me. And, based on the judgment of that move...I'd have to say that the 1st post on this thread might be more accurate. JMHO, of course. |
Where was the info that DM succeeded JS? I know it wasn't in an FCIF or Skinner's e-mail. Until I hear something official, I'll do what I have always done to DM, ignore him.
And if you ask my wife, we are a bunch of b!tch!ng, spoiled, airline pilots. Looking objectively, I'm not sure how anyone could disagree with that. |
Pilot's aren't happy unless they're bitching ... just look at this thread, it's turned into pilots bitching about pilots bitching ... LMAO :D

No matter what the reason he decided to resign it is a shame. JS is an outstanding individual and it is a real loss for the crew force. Thanks Jim!

Maybe it had something to do with the actual vs. accepted fares question?
|
We had a new Regional Chief Pilot? Man, I've got to read my FCIFs a little more closely! :D
